How Would This Work?

I am taking the CFSC this week. Once I pass the exam (hopefully :p) I know I have to submit my picture with the exam report. If I am 17 yrs of age and want to go right to a PAL and skip the whole minors ordeal what would the procedure be. I know I have to wait until I am 18 to get the PAL but I know it takes quite some time for the request to go through. I read somewhere that if your 18th birthday is close (june 2010) that you can submit the application and they will hold out til your 18 before processing it? Does anyone know how this situation would be handled?

Or would it be easier to simply apply for the Minors and then upgrade? If that is easier is there a long wait going from a minors to a standard PAL?

IMO I'd wait until a week or so of your birthday THEN mail the thing off. They should get it on your birthday, process the thing just after and with minimal wait times have your license 2 weeks after your birthday.

Easiest way to get the correct answer is first check the wording on the form. Is there anything asking you if you are over 18?...actually scrap all that I'm sure there is as you cannot sign any legally binding document for yourself until you are over 18 (for the minors one you would have to have a guardian sign in your behalf).

Fill it all out and mail it all off on your birthday. I'm sure you could cheat and mail it a few days before.

If you don't like my answer just phone and ask the CFC :D

Thats what I was thinking. I was just wanting to have a head start :D
