How would you guys feel about recieving your custom barrel with rust on it?

...I'm going to send the rifle to another smith to have it checked over, maybe that will turn something up. I should add that I'm keeping an open mind with this and I haven't ruled out other problems that could be going on that would have nothing to do with the barrel.

That would be my advise. I would put the barrel in a lathe and check for true chamber to bore alignment, then borescope it. If the surface rust shows no signs of pitting or damage then it will be another problem. Have the gunsmith recrown it at the same time.

that rust seems pretty surface, but then again I use tremclad flat black as sight black on my rifle, so there ya go
