Get a matte finish for blueing, can you purchase it? Or is there another way?

Bead blast, then blue.....voila....matte blued finish.

Parkerise it...

You can take #0000 steel wool soak it with gun oil and lightly rub the area where you want to remove the gloss. Go slowly and check the area often and you will get what you are looking for.

Bluing only colours the metal, it does not give a finish other than colour. A high gloss is obtained by a high polish. If you want matt then it will be matte if it is matte before you start bluing.
