Try these guys. They're a Canadian Dealer for Legacy Sports from the U.S. Legacy distributes Howas. The list price on Legacy's site for a 1500 is $546US for standard calibres. $577US for magnums. Epp's is listing a synthetic stocked Vanguard in .30-06 for $555.86.
MSRP for a Vanguard is $525US and $543US. Like stubblejumper says, a Howa 1500 and a Weatherby Vanguard are the same rifle.

hmmm...looking at the threads, maybe a stevens 200. Great info guys, thanks. I'm a few months away, so time for research. Seems like it's gonna come down to the best deal on the Savage or stevens.
