I'm considering buying one of these, Does any one have one to offer opinions on them, The twist is 1 in 12, so it would not shoot heavy bullets well, would this be a deal killer? , can lighter bullets still perform well at longer ranges? Thanks for your imputs

I have a Howa 1500 HB in 223 , its a very nice rifle. Also 1 in 12 , it really likes the 45 grain, but i can shoot well with 55 grain also. Mostly 100 to 200 yards.
I had this rifle first but then picked up a Savage in 223, which made me realize that i did not like the Howa trigger. There are mods you do to the trigger as well as after market , so i haven't given up on it.
The internal magazine is something id like to change as well, one of these days......

I don't have a .223 Howa. But, I do have a Howa 1500 in .243 Win. For the price point, the Howa's are certainly a great value. Mine shoots like a house on fire.

Had an Axiom in 223, but not for long as the stock is very cheap and flimsy. Have also owned several Weatherby vanguards, one other in .223. Howas can shoot, no question there. They're also very solid for the price point.
