does anyone know of a company in canada that sells howa axiom rifles? it looks like a nice piece. does anyone know how good the new remington vtr is in .308? i have read two reviews thus far, one positive and one negative.

legacy sports carries howa. check their website for suppliers in canada.

haven't played with the vtr yet. not exactly my taste if you know what i mean.

I have a VTR in .308. I like it. I am still fooling with it to figure out a bullet and load it likes but it does shoot. I bedded it to get rid of some stock flex,it helped. I have shoot a .495 group with it and it will do better. I still want to adjust the trigger and I need a scope that is more than a 3-9.

that sounds good..
the two advantages of the axiom that i can see might be the fact it comes in 300 win mag.. and since moose shots back in newfieland where i plan on taking it can be over 600 yards that is a consideration... also i intend to give it to my father, who is getting sensitive to recoil and would like the claimed 70 percent recoil reduction. might be a tactical rifle but... that is the use i have in mind for it.
300 win mag because it is easy to find ammo for it and my father has been reloading it for 20 some years.

Maybe try the hunting forum, these aren't precision rifles.

It's not that much louder really and to here the blast roll though the mtn's for about 30 secs after is pretty cool sounds kinda like a jet flying over lol. No all joking aside I've heard louder (i.e the Boss System) and it really doe's a fine job of keeping the muzzel jump at a min.
