They make it according to the 2016 catalogue
Yeah I read that after someone pointed it out in another thread.
Now the question is light, standard or heavy barrel. Inclined to keep it light weight.
They make it according to the 2016 catalogue
Why?And more importantly how many rounds of .50 beowulf fit in a 10 round magazine.
Howa makes the Mini in stainless, but I haven't seen it show up on Legacy Sport's website. I've seen it on the New Zealand forums though. I've been looking for a Sako L461 or AI in 223 REM, but these are the next best thing. I've been looking specifically for an action sized to the 223 REM round, and I'm not a fan of the other micro sized bolt actions out there.
Whittaker Guns in the USA has been selling these for awhile at $330 USD, so hopefully these come in around $600 CAD, but we'll see. I'm not sure if the Howa rifles in Canada are coming from Legacy Sports or directly from Howa in Japan, anyone have one to check (it'll be stamped Legacy Sports if that's who imported it)?
I got one from Frontier, one from Prophet, both show LSI on them.
Stainless mini actions?
Been looking at the specs on this rifle and the above comments regarding the action not being so "mini" made me think of the entire rifle as not so mini.
My Remington 600 Mohawk in .308 has an OAL of 35 1/2". This Howa mini action is 39 1/2" OAL in the light weight and heavy weight versions, 41 1/2 OAL in the standard weight version.
4" difference (lightweight Howa compared to Rem. 600) yet the Howa barrel is only 1 1/2" longer.
This thing is not so mini and compact imo. Not as much as it should be anyway.
