Hi guys, just joined up. Been a range officer at the Okotoks range for a few years now, have done my federal certification as an instructor (NR and R) but it's probably lapsed since I don't do much. Kids take up too much of my life to allow me time to shoot as much as I like. Tend to like pistols more than rifles, but don't have the budget to buy the toys I might like - then again, who does, right? I usually shoot 9mm and .45, got rid of my .22 target pistol some time ago. Used to do a little IDPA, but time constraints have prevented that for a while, too. That's about it - nothing too thrilling about me! :rolleyes:
 
Eeeek... I'm embarrassed to admit I don't remember what the annual fee is - $175? I do know we recently dropped the daily member shooting fee, so full members shoot for free. Drop in is $20, but the RO may waive that at his discretion (read: if you're serious about becoming a member). The range is typically open Tuesdays and Thursdays, 19:00-21:00, plus some additional days for IDPA fun shoots and the like. We're a small, friendly range, and not too hung up on referrals or credentials for members - if you're legal, we're probably OK with you. And the RO retains the right to boot you if you're an idiot, so... :)

I don't know anybody (myself included) that has enough time or money for this sport.

Heating is an unnecessary luxury! I'm sure you have blankets and sweaters. :eek:
