howdy from a neighbor to your south!

howdy ya'll im kickassnikov47 real name is Bryan, i live in the good ole U.S.A.

i found this site on the net, because i was currious about what you folks up there in the Canada's go through for your firearms, and hunting etc...
more so im also currious about canadian gun laws, and or what you have to deal with when faced with potential legislation for your right to arms!

i served in the U.S. Army for 4 years as an Infantryman, Air Assault qualified, and i am a combat veteran. durring my deployment to afghanistan i met quite a few Canadian soldiers, and private military contractors, and the ones i met are all decent good folk! not so much different than me and various other Johny Americans, just a different flag, and different style of government!

it is my belief that we as members of the world shooting community, that we should reach out to one another, and have discourse on the topics of legislation, and ways to defeat more gun laws, before they can be ennacted!
thank you!

welcome aboard. i have traveled and done business in the u.s.a. and have met a lot of great Americans.you are right we are similar in a lot of ways and need to stick together to protect our gun ownership.

That's a fine intro, Bryan! Welcome to the forum!

Now, quickly, start smuggling suppressor parts and AK47's to your Canadian brethren! :D

(DISCLAIMER: Clearly that's a joke, before anyone gets any ideas about encouraging illegal activities... if you HAVE a sense of humor, then this disclaimer should be unnecessary... :D )

Alright... we're gonna need a whollllllllllle lot of surgical tubing, a big canvas tarp, and a metric sh*t-ton of duct tape to build the "cross-border delivery system" (read: big-ass slingshot). :D

Welcome to the site! Are laws are really screwed up and suck up here. I will give you some examples: We can shoot high powered rifles on crown land, but can not shoot a .22 handgun on the same property. Hand gun hunting or wilderness protection is also a no no. Short barrelled handguns are also illegal ie snub nosed .38. We can not conceiled carry that is something only criminals can do, and we are only allowed to bring handguns to a range, or gun smiths. No going to a buddys to add a tack lite or change sites. That is illegal. OH and that ten gun mag limit already exist up here.

It is also illegal by US law for Canadians to buy guns or ammo in the USA. Even though retailers are not required to ask for ID or proof of a gun license before selling ammo. It is also not illegal to bring 500 rnds back into Canada, we just risk 5yrs jailtime if we get caught by US LEO or border agents. Guns are different we just can't purchase them at all. Unless we pay a registered exporter $200bucks to do paperwork that we can do ourselves.

We will be voting in the mechanisms to change laws up here in the next six months or so.

Your state department is currently looking at revising export laws, and they are looking for input from its citizens. Would you mind writing the ddtc expressing your interest in seeing the US firearms market being opened up to Canadians with proper documentation?

That is all of a fustration rant that I got for you for now. What state are you in?

i would love to see more of the U.S. market opened up to you guys! it just makes sense to do it, because we sure as hell could use the jobs created by such a venture, and you all sure could use the firearms!
since we have been railroaded here with nafta, i would hope that at the very least we could have free trades in arms aswell! you canadians may or may not feel that you were railroaded by nafta but us american feel it bad! due to nafta alot of jobs jumped south of our border into mexico, so we good ole boys her in the u.s.a. kinda hate nafta with a certain passion!

also i thought i seen ads from places such as marstar inc of canada where you could at least buy 30 rounders for you vz58 rifles that you have up there, or is it that you can buy it, but not insert it into the rifle? being as all gun laws in my opinion are looney toons and assinine to begin with it wouldnt suprise me if that was the case!

also since you said it was not illegal to bring 500 rounds into canada, i wonder if it would be legal to bring 500 rounds from canada! after seeing the prices on your 762x39mm from marstar it would be worth looking into, for a few "vacation" trips within the same day lol!!!
also to answer your question i live in southern oregon, in a town called klamath falls, and i am a member of our local tea party patriots group, where i teach a focus group on survival and preparedness.

We have no right to bear arms in canada. Oh well glad to have ya! welcome to our humble group of nutz!

Not entirely true.. The Magna Carta guarantees our right to self protection, and it is the same place the USA got the right to bear arms.

Here govt have chosen to suppress these rights, although they are acknowledged in our constitution as as coming from our history.

Fine fine here are your canadian bear arms!

oh and in canada you can buy any cap mag you want(assuming you can find it) but as a general rule of thumb(there are a few loopholes) all rimfire rifles have no mag caps... cuz .22's just tickle... all semiauto centerfire rifles and shotguns are capped at 5 and all pistols are capped at 10.

So while you can buy a 30 round AR mag you must pin it so it is only capable of accepting 5 rounds. Unless you use an LAR PISTOL mags in your rifle then you can have 10 rounds. Or if you use an AIA bolt action 20 rounder in youre m14 then you're good to go.... confused yet? Not even we can keep up with our poorly written and ompletely useless laws.

oh and i can't remember which gun it is but there is a .22 rifle that uses the same mags as a .22 pistol so now the REGULAR capacity mags for them can't be sold anymore you can only get 10 rounders. I wanna say it's the remington 597 but i'm not 100% sure on that. I'm also not sure if you HAVE to pin the existing 20-30 roundes to only accpet 10 either...

One of the rules, that Yanks on our web site must follow...
" you must post lots of pictures of yourself and your friends shooting all the wonderful firearms that we can only dream of legally owning and shooting!!!
Welcome to our site...It sounds like you have the right attitude and sense of humor to help us p!ss off the many trolls and Liberal loving back stabbers that drift thru the threads causing chaos where there should be harmony!!!
regards, Hitch
