I’ve been a lurker on this great site ever since I typed “Canadian gun forum” into google. The info and attitude on this site is phenomenal, mature and helpful jump to mind right away. I have found more information on the SKS, Mosin Nagant and black powder shooting then years of random searching on the internet could ever reveal. My wallet shall cower in fear once I receive my PAL as I already have a list of several guns that I “need” to get. (Thanks to CGN):D

I’m looking to get started with my gun collection via a flintlock. Edmonton is the closest city to my town and I’m looking for a good gun shop there. A good place that will help out a newcomer and a place that carries a few flintlocks would be nice. Any help would be greatly appreciated and any information regarding black powder shooting in the Edmonton area would be nice too.

I hope to contribute to this forum in the future, thanks for the great site.

I've heard good things about Wild West, which is in the West Edmonton Mall.
I have personally dealt with P&D (via mail order), they are great and a sponsoring member of this forum! I highly recommend them.
Welcome to the obsession!  :runaway:

You're obviously not where you think you are :D Just kidding. Welcome aboard. In Edmonton there's P&D, Milarm, and Wholesale Sports that come to mind for gun toys. There are 2 shooting ranges...Pheonix and Wild West. Both have firearms and other bits and pieces. Wholesale Sports is usually the cheapest. P&D is the most helpful. Milarm has other items of interest that aren't carried by Wholesale or P&D.
Call the creditcard company in advance so that they don't think someone has stolen your card and is going on a free for all :D

Welcome to CGN.

Thanks for the warm welcome and info. I'm already planning to stop at Wild West as the .44 magnum and .50 Desert Eagle are in need of my $75 gift certificate. (Can’t wait for those big muzzle blasts.:sniper:) So I shall see what they have in stock and get some advice on a gun safe, ammunition ect. Milarm is already on the list for its knifes and milsurp collection. The Phoenix range might have to be another stop, I mean an indoor rifle range… how cool is that. (Not so cool for my wallet though.)

Thanks again for the suggestions guys, I can’t wait to shoot a few rounds down range.:50cal:

Welcome

Welcome aboard Pumpster. I'm new to CGN also. Though not new to shooting sports. I was pointed to CGN by some EESA members. I'm looking at retiring soon. The political climate in Ontario is bad for my hobbies health. So I was wondering about Alberta. Any suggestions on locations with good clubs. :jerkit:
