My name is Sheldon and I am a firearms enthusiast living in Calgary. I'm a diesel mechanic by trade and an avid motorcyclist. Like many of you, I'm sure, I grew up shooting. I don't hunt at all but really enjoy trap and target shooting. Shooting for the sake of shooting I suppose. Survivalism may have something to do with it and the raw thrill of unleashing a big round or the satisfaction of making a difficult shot. I don't really hang around on the internet much and don't imagine that I'll be racking up the posts but it's good to have a place to chat with other people that are like minded in this respect. I'm not really militant but think gun owners' rights are important and worth sticking up for, though I've never been part of a protest... which I guess should change if I want to fight today's trend of firearms discrimination and ultra regulation, which we all know does nothing to curb crime.
Currently, I only own a Beretta 92FS Vertec Inox with a LaserMax sight that I take meticulous care of. My father's armory is large and at my disposal and so I've never really bought much of my own. I'm actually looking to sell my pistol. The sheer amount of restriction on it makes it a $2,000 paperweight most of the time and I'm looking to buy a toy that I can actually play with. There's a Fabarm shotgun that I've been looking at and hope to buy once I get my Beretta sold.
Anyway, that's me.
