HP-9 front site replacement

Does anyone know if someone makes replacement sights that fit the threads for a HP-9 bead?

I recall reading that the threads are not the same as a standard 870.

Happy to report that I have never had any issues with my HP-9 and the bead is still there. I was just looking to put on a fiber optic front sight.

i just got my hp 9 and the sight was bent so i removed it and bought a hi viz kit. it came with different threaded post. i had a 3mm x .5 tap so used that as one post in the kit was that size. just installed last night.

Not sure what thread the HP9's have but it would be easy enough to drill out the thread and install a bead with a larger thread.

I wanted to avoid drilling and tapping if I could.

Anyone know of a thread in replacement that works with an HP-9?

not sure why youre 'avoiding' it: it would be a trivial matter to retap the bead to 6/48 - the standard 870 bead thread - then you could buy any 870 bead.
another option is buying something like the XS Big Dot tritium sight and just epoxying it over the grizzly bead.

No luck so far. How about from this angle, does anyone know the thread size on the hp9 bead?

If you take the barrel to any small automotive garage, one of the techs should have a thread gauge and they could measure it for you.

I took my barrel to a gunsmith. He had 2 boxes of different sizes of beads metric and sae and none of them fit. Thats why i went with the hi viz as i mentioned earlier. I am a motorcycle mechanic and had a 3 mm x .5 tap in my tap kit. Threaded the stock hole easily and put the hi viz in np.
