HP9 Ghostring sights

Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone knows where to get a set of ghostring sights that come on the Norinco HP9?

I have a 12.5 coming in the mail but it only has the front bead.

Also if its not possible to get the factory sights does anyone know of some reputable sights for an 870/hp9 platform?

I've tried a bunch of different kinds, but always end up preferring the Scattergun Technologies/Trijicon ones.

Tacord has great prices on these, and his install costs are very reasonable (almost cheap!). Don't bother with trying to find a set of the dominion arms ones... while a good deal when they come with the shotgun, there are better options.

XSSights make a set too that are decent...

yes. Casey drills/taps for the rear sight and solders or pins/glues the front sight. He does very good work and is pleasure to deal with. If I were sending him a chinese 870 I'd also have the forcing cone extended and the chamber polished. He can also open up the bolt and install a remington Police extractor. That would be my shopping list anyways! Not cheap all together, but you'd have as good a pump as it gets in my view.

Thanks for the info, when it arives I will take it out and run it to see if its worthy to dump some cash into. I have heard the Norc 870's are actually better than the new 870 express.

about the only thing that can end up being poor on them is rough chambers and weak extractor/bad extractor geometry. If you get the chamber polished and a new extractor installed you correct the two biggest potential issues. I have also heard of shell latches not being staked properly, but that is easy to check for and easy to fix as well. I actually have a rem P model with a loose shell latch

Has anyone had the Vang Comp Cone forcing and perferating done? And are you happy with the results?

Most guys who get VangComp treatment opt OUT of the perforating. It's supposed to reduce recoil, but it increases noise and cleaning effort immensely.

To be quite honest - I wouldn't bother getting it Vang'd on a 12" norinco barrel. The barrel is really thin, and not the highest quality.

On a remington or dlask barrel, sure... but I wouldn't waste it on a norinco. I'm no norinco snob - i own or have owned over 10 HP9's... but it's like pimping an SKS... doesn't increase the value and you'll take a huuuge loss when selling.

Buy an 870 Police and have it VangComped... that makes sense. Not a Norinco.

Right on I think i'll just stick with the extractor/chamber polish and the wilson combat sights, I think the qoute Casey gave me for all that is pretty fair and I'd have a nice reliable 12.5" pump.
