Hi there, i'm thinking of getting a hp9 14" and was wondering what peoples opinions were wrt standard vs pistol grip stock (not pgo). Obviously i'm not looking for someone to tell me what's best for me. I have never fired a shotgun with a pistol grip stock and was wondering if it would help or hinder my shooting, as i expect the recoil to be somewhat greater than with my "full size" shotguns. this gun will be used exclusively for hunting pop cans and milk jugs.

thanks

mine came with a cheap tactical setup and it was tearing up my shoulder pretty bad. i was missing clays with it and slugs felt like someone beat me with a hammer. put the synthetic stock back on and accuracy improved and my shoulder had no problem going through 300 rounds of bird shot last time out. it was a bit sore but no where near as bad as with the pistol grip and collapsible butt stock

Bought one with a ATI six position pistol grip stock stock and awkward to say the least to use the 20" Remington rifle sighted barrel that I put on. Sold the stock and added police wood and much better.

HP9 Receiver with Remington parts added.

i put a knoxx recoil stock on my hp9 14". i like it. i found that my thumb kept grazing my face while shooting with regular stock. perhaps i have poor grip technique. the knoxx stock solves that problem. got mine from wolverine supplies.
