HS Precision Bottom Metal Installation on a Rem 700 LA

I have a Rem 700 Mountain rifle in .280 and I was looking around for a detachable mag system for it. I saw HS Precision has one for a 30-06 and thought it might be just what I need.

Has anyone installed one on the factory Rem stock, HS says it's for their stocks but I imagine with a little woodworking it might work on my factory stock?

Also any ideas of who might stock such an item in Canada?

I installed one on my stock. On the stock, you will need to open the sides of the mag well also the bottom of the floorplate to get the mag up high enough to feed properly. It's easy if you have a mill and more precise, but more work with files, scraper and sandpaper.

Don't know who sells them in Canada, but Brownells stocks them. Give HS a call. They are very helpful.
 
You can get the Remington Dm bottom metal throughWe ern Gun Parts. I put one on my wifess 260 mountain rifle and it works fine.

Hadn't thought of calling HS direct, good idea. I have lots of dremel type tools, I think that they might do the job decently.
