Looks like I am going to want an adjustable cheek rest. I was considering more of a pad but I think a solid rest will let me get a more solid cheek weld without the concern of more or less pressure putting my head in a different position.
Normally, the idea of drilling into the rifle stock would scare the crap out of me (out of fear of screwing it up). after fiddling with my rifle and tapping the butt with my nails, I believe the butt is hollow. If it is hollow, then it is just a matter of putting 4 holes in it (2 on each side) that I can get as close to lining up as possible and I am done. Much less intimidating then trying to drill thru a solid buttstock, out the other side and it needing to be straight, or trying to drill a hole from both sides to join up in the middle somewhere.
Is anyone able to confirm that the HS precision stock used on the remington 5R does have a hollow stock?
