I recently purchased an HS3 for my Tikka T3 Tacical in .223, but my Accuracy International polymer .223 AICS mags will not go into the Magwell far enough to lock into place.

The MDT polymer .223 mag I purchased with the chassis fit and feed no problem. Even the metal .308 Accurate Mag from my Ruger Gunsite Scout will lock into place.

It looks like the AI AICS .223 mag has a slightly different shape feed lips and they are coming into contact with the bottom of the receiver before the mag locks into place.

Anyone else run into this issue with polymer AI .223 mags?

Yes, the .223 AI magazine will not work on the Tikka T3. The feedlips are too high. You could shave them off. But when we designed our magazines we knew about this issue and designed them so that it would work perfectly.

Ok, thanks for the quick reply. Looks like i will have to sell my AI mags and buy a few more MDT mags ;)
I may try a metal Accurate Mag in .223 as well.

Cheers.
