Huge Brain Fart ,Mesurement question

I have a huge brain fart with thousents of an inch

if I have a col of 2.860 and want to minus ten thousents of an inch it would equal 2.850 ? correct?

if were to minus 5 thou off 2.860 it would =2.855
and one thou off 2.860 =2.859

ten thou= .010
five thou= .005
one thou= .001
Correct?
I dont know why I cant wrap my brain around it today
