Huglo 20 gauge SXS

Fred, my experience with the CZ/Huglu guns is with the double trigger, extractor model named the Bobwhite. Straightshooter and I wrote a review of that model, with 20 and 28 gauge examples. This is a fine and detailed report on the Huglo. I am impressed. The gun I saw was $1100 and I think it is a good buy.
I am waiting for another one to come in. The double trigger is the better buy and a good design if you are used to it.
After shooting single trigger O/U and SXS all my life I would not buy a double trigger at this stage. Thanks for the headsup report. Fred M.

That is a good buy and around what I payed 3 years ago. I recently looked at a 28ga at a local shop and it was priced a $1300. I think you will enjoy the huglu they seem to fit well for most people and seem pretty reliable. Keep us posted

Well I picked up the 20 gauge "Ringneck" Huglo gun today. It is very nice and locks up rock solid. A bit too stiff yet. It weighs 7lbs- 1oz with 28" barrels.
Heavier than I thought. LOP is 14.5" about an inch too long for me. The trigger is single selective and gun has a single extractor.
The trigger pull is 8lbs for the first pull and
9lbs for the second pull. Trigger pull needs to come down at least 2.5lbs.
I thought it came with ejectors? Five screw-in chocks are included. I will give it a go on Sunday and shoot a few rounds of skeet. Shooting high gun I can manage the long stock.
The comb is a bit low and needs a 1/2" build up. I like to have the center of my eye about 3/8"+ above the rib?
The stock is stained very dark and hides the grain, which is very nice. So that stain has to go.
The metal is very nicely finished and the receiver is color case hardened with a small bit of engraving.
The checkered stock has a very pleasing rounded pistol grip without a grip cap.
The only complaint I have is the lack of automatic ejectors. I know it would add to the cost. But it really would make the gun
complete and put it in a different class.
Other than that this gun is one hell of a buy, if it stands up. Price is $1099 plus 6% sales tax.
The lock up has double under lugs and a Greener Cross-bolt. A-plus solid construction.

I cut the stock for a 1" Decellerator recoil pad for a LOP of 13-1/2". In the mean time I put on a 1" slip on "Limbsaver". This is a very good pad and quick to install untill I get to install the permanent Decellerator.
I also raised the comb 7/16" with a shaped piece of Styro foam and covered and hold it in place with walnut colored MacTac. This is another easy way to get a higher comb.
This comb and LOP is the same as my 20g O/U classic 101.
Yesterday I took the gun to the skeet range and fired 2 rounds of skeet. The gun
shoots where I am looking and I broke 45 out of 50. Pretty good for a new gun. It appears that stock comb needs to be raised
another 1/4" since I broke most of the target on the lower side.
Next step is to find the impact at 16 yards
and then make comb adjustments.
Two items were of bother, since it was very cold I was shooting with leather cloves and had trouble to get the empties out. Nothing like ejectors.
Since the trigger pulls are very heavey I had to realy crimp on the trigger to fire the gun. The result of this was my second finger
behind the trigger got hammered.
For small hands the Trigger guard is much to far behind the trigger. I will have to modify the trigger guard. But first I will have to lower the trigger pull weight.
I tried to remove the stock but non of my sockets/extensions would fit into the bolt hole. What is the size of the bolt head in metric or imperial???
