My friend complained that he couldn't hit anything with his Hastings-barreled Browning A5. This morning, I took it out to the range to verify his claim. This barrel is new to him and sports rifle sights.
After firing a couple of shots at 25 yds. I realized that the windage was spot-on but the POI was WAY too high, to the toon of about a foot. I adjusted the elevation (rear sight) all the way to it's maximun point but it's still shooting about 8" high at 100 yds.
Does anyone have any advice on what to do? Shells used were Winchester 2 3/4" Sabots. Thanks in advance.

How are the friction rings set, for regular or magnum shells? I bet if you set it to the 'heavy load' setting it may lower the POI.

More than likely they're set for Mag loads but I can't really see how it would affect POI. Still, it won't hurt to try re-setting them next time I go shooting. Thanks for the suggestion.
