I just had an interesting telephone call with one of the leading German importers for military surplus ammunition - Chemnitzer Waffen- und Munitionsfabrik. This company especially seems to have very good connections to Hungary. So I've learned that there are obviously still some lots of Hungarian HB 7.62x54R surplus ammo available - the yellow-tip, CW steel case from the 1950s, the silver-yellow-tip, CW from the 1970s and the silver-yellow-tip, LC from the 1980s as well. Needless to say, I immediately secured a "few" rounds of them for me.
Additionally I was told that also LB ammo is still available in Hungary (and may appear here on the German market also sooner or later).
