Well, it is my turn to post a "how much is it worth" question. It is an "unissued" M44 made in Hungary. It has a bayonet (folds to the side). Are these rifles rare (considering there seems to be a billion Mosin-Nagants out there)?

Thanks in advance.

Hungarian M44's are around,..the one I have, and several I have seen are in VG condition to beat to a snot shape...A unissued one should be in the range of $275+.... Most excellent to unissued rifles have been Polish M44's usually.....Is she; B 02 marked on the bbl shank?-Hungarian- an (11) in an oval on the bbl shank is Polish...just curious...

It is 02 marked - and also 1953. I was surprised how smooth the action was. Fair amount of cosmoline too, so that may help! :)

A fellow I know. I didn't even realize he had it until today. I'll pass on the info if I pass on the rifle.

M44s and M38s are addicting. Waiting on a Hungarian myself. Paid 250.

Is that in "unissued" condition? The prices I have seen for Russian M44s are quite a bit higher, and those are for rifles that have seen significant use. I assume this means the Russian versions are worth more...

$325 + from the dealers.

Guessing you're watching the same auction I am :p

Don't worry, I won't bid against you.... Already have a nice Russian M44, not collecting "M44's built by everyone" so don't need more than 1.

A nice "unissued" Hungarian M44 should bring at least $350 nowadays. I have no interest in certain milsurps and wouldn't try to offer my cheap-a$$ value on one.
