Hungarian M44?

I have one, bought it at auction several years ago, I think I paid around $180 (I'd have to look at the receipt. Has non matching bolt and is service grade quality, but shoots very well.

SIR claimed to have some at one time. Ordered one and got a Pole. No complaint but not what I ordered and wondered if it was a screw up on their part or just ignorance.

Grizz

SFRC had them in stock a month or two back. If you check the mosin rarity index, they are actually relatively common, despite what recent owners claim in their wts ads.

The problem with these and the Polish M44's is that only about 2x years ago they would sell for $150-250. Within those two years Mosin Nagant variations have become highly collectable in some circles with there are some buyers out there willing to pay $450 for these same rifles.

The same thing happened with all the Finn variations and captured rifles.

The only Mosin Nagants not moving in price are the 91/30 refurb's - probably due to shear numbers.

Now - are these Mosin Variations worth $450????? You can make that decision - I still only buy Finn/Hungarian rifles when I see them for old pricing - which if you are patient can be done.

The Hungarian M44 is relatively common here...on the other hand the Hungarian 91/30 is rare and it took years to find one..Even the sniper rifle is a little easier to find...Well built, fine working rifles..

Problem with Polish M44 is that about 2 years ago Poland introduced collector licensing, surplus guns prices in Poland gained 400% on average. Wholesale price in Poland for M44 made by Radom is about $400 per rifle. For Hungarian M44 give E&I sports in Prince George a call he had 2 to 3 of them and wanted to sale at least 2

I have two Polish, one each Romanian & Hungarian, all pretty much new. Very nice little rifles. I also have one of the "Nazi marked" M44's that everybody gets all worked up over. Oh, and I don't really care if it is humped or not. :p
I bought it years ago, suspecting that is was not originally "Nazi marked".

I have a couple of M44's that aren't matched, as well as an M38. Those little fellas really roar and send out a fabulous fireball on surplus ammo.
