One of the guys, ROB, goes in for triple bypass at Kingston General this Thursday.
Rob suffered a loose blood clot last year, and was in serious condition for a while after that.
The operation is fairly routine as I understand it now, but serious none the less.

...........................................

Mike has resurfaced.
He is engaged to his soon to be third wife. (some guys never learn :D )
She's pregnant (six weeks I think) and twenty or so years younger than Mike.
He wants to return to camp this year.

...........................................

The people who left the garbage on the camp floor last year have a mess to clean up. Mice got into the bag, big stain on the floor.
I wonder who did that

...........................................

We now have a deep freeze. Cost to camp $0.00.

...........................................

Please, NO MORE FURNATURE! We may have to lose some that we have now.

...........................................

Cecil, across the road, has had his wife take off again. (They are a couple in their eighties) He's talking about selling, doesn't like being alone, She's been gone several weeks now.

............................................

Big John was up, put out some salt, found a lot of track betwen the old camp and the hydro. We've taken a lot of deer there in the past. But have not hunted it much the last few years, due to an influx of cottages along the lake.
We may have to look at doing a shotguns only drive through that area.

Mike is, but, he can't see his compass without reading glasses. Too cheap for bifocals.

Well dude, you would have to be there on the last day to qualify for blame, so I guess that lets you off....

I'm thinking it was me.

Yeah, got the freebie from an old friend. Tenants moved out and left it behind.

HELL YES!

You've never hunted this particular area. It's a narrow triangular chunk of crown, with lake and cottages on one side, angry landowner on another, and the highway on the third side. No way I'm going in there, unless the cottages are empty. One time I went through, there were a couple of very small kids dressed in black snowmobile suits playing on the hillside like a pair of bear cubs.
When I spotted them, I pulled the plug on the run. Not safe.

Got news of his progress last night.
He's back on his feet, and could be released as early as tommorow.
BUT
His operation started at 2:00, didn't end until 8pm.
Complications
Undiagnosed pneumonia, damaged arteries, swollen lymph nodes in the throat.
lung collapsed during surgery.
He really had a rough go of it.
Wife is objecting to his early release, he is still having trouble breathing.

Good luck to your hunting partner, my friends!

But I thought all furniture in a hunt camp is supposed to smell like mouse piss?????

Oh I just re-read that, he said cat piss, very bad indeed sir. You need some better mice to chase those damned cats out of there. Cats are for lesbian atheist city-dwelling anti-gun people, not hunters.

hey we own cats and they use our liberal tree hugging neighbours yards as their bathrooms:D

dumbdawg, no offence to you and Liz. I do like SOME cat owners. I just think they are mis-guided, that's all.......

Back to JYC, I hear that electrical grids buried in the ground with a hot wire is a very effective way to stop cats from pissing on that spot, gives them a good jolt right where they piss from............OUCH!

Got another update, he's home, and grumpy. In quite a bit of pain.
Got a mild infection in the incision, going back to Kingston for a checkup today.

Grumpy is understandable....good news that there are no major problems.
