Don't know what the big deal is here....this cartridge is about the lowest powered round one could use on game animals, if anyone is that hard up for a gun to hunt big game with, gimme a call...I'll loan you a 30/30...a much more powerful round. I do think you owe it to the animal to use a more humane round for harvesting game. This round is only a step ahead of the .30 carbine, another wounder of game.
Below is a comparison of the 30-30(150gr) along side the 7.62x39(125gr) that I pulled off of remington's website. Notice at 100 yards the 30-30 only has 116 ft/bs more energy than the 7.62x39. I am definately not hard up for a big game gun, but I like to use different tools. This year I will try the cz-858 and i am sure it will do fine. For me the range limit isn't from the round, but from the iron sights, and my ability (or inability) to make a clean shot.
