Hey folks, I'm going to be heading to Tofino next month for a weekend event and am hoping that I will get a chance to head out with a hike with my rifle and maybe find some grouse or other small game when I have an open afternoon. I've been to Tofino (the village) once before, but am not too familiar with the surrounding area and wanted to know if anyone here has experience there and could offer tips.
I have already consulted the regs and synopsis and I know that the whole PacRim park is off-limits for hunting and shooting and so I'm figuring on heading into the area north of the park until around Kennedy Lake.
Are there any worthwhile small game in this area? And are the roads here navigable with a normal road-faring sedan or would they require something with a high ride height?
I'm only going to be looking at small game, and likely only grouse, so if you have a good tip on a place that's within an hour or so of Tofino, I'm all ears.
Thanks
