I have a 590a1 with a 20" cylinder bore barrel. It holds 8+1, 2 3/4" 12g shells and is also 3" capable. I realize its not the ideal platform for waterfowl..... but lets say I was invited out and its all I had... what do I need to do to make it 3 shot compliant? (as per hunting regulations for my region) Insert a dowel?..... any tips on proper length and how to go about? maybe a link to previous thread.... I'm kinda challenged on searching out intel on this board.

Also..... yes I have completed the proper certifications to be able to obtain a hunting licence for my province.

Thanks in advance CGN community!

Not sure about the mossberg but on my m887 took off the end if my mag cap loaded in 2 shells then measured from the back of my follower to the end cap

What skoal said. Easy. Get some dowel from CT, maybe 3/8" diam.

For waterfowl, you'd best be shooting them over the decoys. Definitely test pattern your gun, to give yourself a visualization of what your pattern looks like at 20 yards, 30 and 40. Then you'll know what your limit is.

I don't hunt (anything) with my 590A1 but I'm sure waterfowel and like will not know the difference what kind of SG was used;)
I'm sure it will be effective if not a little heavy for the task but like the others have noted...know how it patterns and you should be good to go.
