Government recently made some announcements in NB

Moose season been lengthened to 5 days

Bear hunters can buy a second tag now, and apparently that season being extended

A limited turkey season is being introduced in spring 2015

WE really need to get the laws changed for no larger than .22 during the of season I would rather hunt with my 6mm when going after yotes.

Lucky buggers! In the middle 1990s NS hunters tried to convince DNR to introduce wild turkeys with the long term plan of creating a huntable population.

Officials claimed that turkeys were never a native species there and outright nixed the idea.
Typical short minded bureaucrats that keep NS taxpayers on the low.

I'm pretty sure the hobbits that run novascotiahunting forum are in full agreement with big brother.

Brutus; The NB government has used the same excuse for years to avoid openning a Turkey and Pheasant season, not sure why they opened a Turkey season with a population of 2000 birds, when their more than 2000 Pheasants in the area around Sackville alone. Seems like backward thinking to me. Extending Grouse season to until the end of the year will get no complaints from me. We all know the Alward government is sucking up to the wildife & sportsmans federations to get us on board with the new crown land logging agreement. Always look at the big picture, a longer Moose season and a larger bag limit on Bear isn't much good if Irving clearcuts the damn province so their is no habitat for these species.
