I m from out of province and would like to hunt coyotes during the next hunting season. Am I correct in assuming all I require is a Alberta Wildlife Certificate? Do I need to hold a valid big game tag such as mule or white tailed deer?

No tags are required. Coyotes are a pest animal. You need land permission and follow the general hunting regulations around Coyotes.

Horse sh!t - great way to get the guy in trouble.

Yes, out of province hunters need a coyote/wolf license. I hunter host my brother every year for coyote/wolf hunting. You need a win card, a hunter host, a wildlife cert, and a coyote/wolf license.

"NON-RESIDENT (CANADIAN) LICENCE AVAILABILITY
All Non-resident hunters of big game, wolf or coyote require a Big Game Designated Guide or a Hunter Host....

...Prior to purchasing any licence, each hunter must possess a valid WIN (scroll up for more information regarding the WIN - Wildlife Identification Number) and a Wildlife Certificate, which costs $28.22. Hunters wishing to hunt with a bow and arrow must also purchase a Bowhunting Permit (not required for hunting with a cross-bow)....

...Wolf/Coyote $12.40. Click here for Other Species and more information."

NOPE

Yep, they're varmints. The land owner's permission and abide by all the local bylaws. Shoot safe.

YEP! Costs $12.40 plus WIN.

Actually it costs $12.40 for the wolf/coyote license + Wildlife Certificate, which costs $28.22 + the $8 win card + $27 for the hunter host license.

If the op already is hunting here I assume he has a win, and he would have already had a host and wildlife cert so it's simply $12.40 to be able to shoot them while out hunting.
