Hi guys, I hope to get some hints here. I have never hunted duck before and I would like to try it this years. From what I understand, hunting duck only require a large water part and some bait ( fake duck) so the flying duck will come near me. I'm wondering if its doable in the Saint-laurent ?

I have found many story of duck hunter around montreal getting arrested because of bylaw. My question is, does anyone ever hunted duck in the saint-laurent legally, if yes, where can we go ?

I would prefer hunting directly from the water in a boat to avoid having to ask farmer around, is it possible ?

Yes it is, there are many areas around Boucherville, Longueuil that you can hunt. I'm not into waterfowl so I would tell you to call the MRN and find out where you can hunt. Don't forget the Riviere Richelieu and Lac Champlain......

Migratory bird hunting licences are federal and you can buy them at the post office. Here in Quebec you also have to have your provincial small game licence.

Lac St Louis is full of duck hunters. To the point where it's not fun - getting sprayed with shot because you're too close to someone's spot, being upwind, etc. If you are going to go out there, best to go with someone who knows or hire an outfitter. I stick to the boonies - get on Google Maps, satellite view, and start searching.
