What do you have on the Menu for me to maybe Try??

Thanks alot for any quick replies

My wife used to simply pan fry trout and then finish with a butter and walnut sauce. I couldn’t find the recipe for you though, I’m sure google might have something similar. It was easy to prepare and tasty. We have also used crushed corn flakes with a flour mix, fried in butter with a side of wild rice.

that one is the easy one and you can try that over the open fire as well ...

Salt and pepper the fillet and cook in cast iron with butter. Simple and always turns out good. Easy quick not so different.

Roll in corn meal, flour and pepper. Fry in butter. If you don't like it like that you are impossible to please.

The newfies I fish with, roll in corn meal and fry in magarine, hunions, and salt and pepper. Make sure to use a Coleman stove inside your tent and let the oil smoke burn your eyes. It helps lock in the memories of camping in 0° May

Couple ways I do trout. Big fillet with the skin on I go direct on the BBQ grill. Pam up the grill and spray the trout flesh with a bit of olive oil then sprinkle on some Club House Salmon spice. After that straight to the grill skin side down first, then flesh side down. A wee bit may stick to the grill on first run but after that it should be fine. I have done this with salmon slabs no skin from the store and works just as well.

Smaller trout / splake. Fry a $hite pile of bacon or use your saved bacon grease. Heat it up in a cast iron pan good and hot. Roll fish in corn meal with skin on and a bit of pepper to taste, and quick fry in the bacon grease. Eat the fish skin and all. For the cholesterol watchers I think the good of the trout fat out weights the bad of the bacon fat.
