well, there have been some recent threads on hunting in afrika and in australia.

what about hunting in asia? anyone been or is going? seems to me that there are many varieties of game.... sheep, ibex, tur, maral, moose, roe deer, grizzly, boar, various gazelles, even leopard. some very big $$$, others in line with typical hunts in africa or the yukon.

i could see myself going for ibex or blue sheep. on the other hand, i can't imagine going to kamchatka or some such place to hunt moose.

anybody hunt in india in the old days?

Hunting in China has just recently been suspended. Apparently all hunts have been cancelled and it is unknown when or if it will reopen again to international sportsmen.

Does the Kamchatka Pen. count as Asia? .......

technically yes. but with it being russian....

can't imagine going there to hunt moose or grizzly when these can be had in western canada. snow sheep i could see though.

No, hunting in China has never been suspended. What was suspended was the auction of th hunting privileges of different species, like mountain sheep, black bear, mule deer...stuffs like that. And it's not cheap to hunt there while you can find most species in their list in Canada. I knew a guy in Northeastern China who used to hunt Siberian tigers. That was something you don't wanna try. It was at least 100 times tougher and more dangerous than hunting grizz.

found this with a goggle search:

the appeal of china would be low cost (relative to other sheep) blue sheep hunt and cheap airfare. compare airfare to china sometime from vancouver compared to afrika.

downside, i'm not real keen on spending my money in commie land.

If you can spend less money and :ar15: more commie animals, why not?:dancingbanana:

Also just imagine the shots you would have to get before going...OMG what a cesspool of contagion Asia is.

well, i've already had the shots for: yellow fever, hep A+B, typhus, tetanus, diptheria, rubella and probably others that i have forgotten about. 4 trips to the clinic and about $500.

some hunts in asia seem almost cheap, look at ibex in mongolia or tur in azerbijian (sp?). even with airfare they still seem within reason.
