Hunting in Quebec/Ontario

Hey Guys,

I will be moving to Quebec (close to the Ontario boarder) from the east coast within the next year and I was wondering how do I go about obtaining my hunters certificate for each province? I am certified to hunt in Nova Scotia as I have taken the hunters ed. course and I have my wilderness card. Will Quebec and Ontario honor my hunters ed course and issue me a hunters card there or will I have to go and do their course and apply for the card? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would think so.

Not gonna happen. You will only have resident hunting priveledges in the province you live in. In order to hunt in Ontario you will have to purchase non-resident tags and possibly the costs of an outfitter if required.

I moved from Quebec where I had passed a hunting course, to get my hunting card in Ontario, I must write test only and achive a mark of 80% and get my Ontario Card $40 fee, not sure how Quebec rules on this.

That is a terrible rule.

Its all about money collection here in ontario.

Ask someone who has put a young person into hunting lately. Very costly.

Actually non-residents wanting to hunt moose or bear in Ontario are required to use an outfitter. You don't need an outfitter for deer or turkey.

What the terrible part? The $40 or the 80%? You want to hunt with someone who only got 55% on the hunter's exam? To do the complete PAL and Hunter's course is $200, and 3 days.
