Hey guys so I’ve been thinking about my hunting license for myself for deer and rabbits and MAAAAAAYBE bear at some point. But I was checking and reading online that they have a online coarse for hunting in Ontario, does anyone know anything about it ?

It says you do the coarse and the test at the end online and once completed ypu print off the certificate and take it to service Canada place and they go into the system and print the actual license that it attached to it from their system.

Any help or info on this would be great :)

@OP

Yes, you can do the course online and it’s cheaper.
https://www.huntercourse.com/canada/ontario/

Also please remember that only specific service Ontario locations will allow you to FILE HUNTER’s ACCREDITATION.
You can get tags, and renew outdoors cards at almost any ServiceOntario, but there are only FEW that let you add your hunter course accreditation.

Hope this helps.

Ah ok good to know !!! Also does the hunting license expire like our rpal/pal ? Or renewable every year like a normal fishing license ? And obviously tags need to be purchased prior to hunting in the proper season of that year. Are tags refundable if you don’t use them all that you purchase possibly ?

Just like the fishing license. Uses the same card too so only thing that needs to be renewed every few years is the card. Otherwise go to the same website and buy your game licenses and apply for your antlerless tags etc. each season through Hunt and Fish Ontario.
No refunds if you don't use the tag if that's what you mean(?)

So basically whatever tags you buy you best be sure to nab each one then since you can’t return them, and are they only good for the season/year ?

Here is the website you will need www.ohep.net I suggest you do the dual course if you intend to use a firearm.

I'm in the middle of the online course, and I will say it is drivinf me bonkers.

First off, the content so far has been really basic. I mean, i'm no rocket scientist, but so far i've scored 100% on every test.

But the real problem is the page timers. They have a timer at the top of each page you load, and you can't click on "next" until the timer counts down. But they'll have a block of text that, honestly, is maybe a 20 second read, tops, yet the timer will be set for two and a half minutes! It's taking me so long to get through the course, because I only have so much time free to sit there staring blankly at a screen i've already re-read 3 times and still have a minute left on the stupid timer!

Dual coarse, What do you mean ? I thought it was one coarse for hunting to receive your license for firearm hunting …

He means an in person course. They often get done as a package deal. Pal course is still 100% done in person not online.

Ooooo that makes sense, I don’t have to worry as I already my PAL/RPAL just looking into the hunting coarse to try my hand at some deer or rabbit, and maybe one day a bear :)
