Hunting Moose with 444 Marlin

Any recommendations on which factory ammunition in 444 marlin I would use for hunting moose this fall?

My recommendation... I use the lever evolution in both the 30-30 & 35 Rem, GREAT factory ammo IMHO.

Another vote for the 265gr FP, very accurate in mine. I prefer the 300+ grain and have been loading 325gr cast bullets.

Shame Marlin wouldn't have went with a 1-20 twist instead of 1-38 with it's .444 and .44mag rifles.........Ballard specifically.

Any 444 manufactured from late 1999 onwards was a ballard 1-20, I have it in my 444XLR. Not sure about the 44 mag though?

Remington 240 great factory load will work.

Hornaday Superformance would be better....

the Hornady flex tip load is a great deer bullet and is flat shooting but lacks penetration on anything but a broadside shot on moose. I suggest you use the 265 grain FP.

I agree with the Hornady 265gr FP. It's built for moose.
