Hello everyone. First I'd like to introduce myself, I recently have gotten my firearms license, both non-restricted and restricted.

I have registered an old Cooey .22 and a Winchester 12 guage shotgun that chambers upto a 3 inch round.

Now I am looking to buy my first rifle and want something inexpensive for a newb and I will be hunting a variety of deer. Preferably used and something I can get cheap ammo for. Basically what everyone else wants :)

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks fellas.

welcome..
There are choices for hunting that aren't too expensive.
Hunting in the Okanagan isn't usually long range so just about any scope works. Any rifle from .243 to any of the .300 's will work great. You probably want something you can buy shells for at wall mart/canadian tire. any of the 30-30, .308, .270, 30'06, .303 etc will work great on deer. they will all take deer just fine as far away as you can hit it properly.

tradex, a sponsor in the bunch above is good for old good rifles. they send you a better rifle than you think you are ordering.

If you want a new one, a stevens 200 or marlin 4x4, etc are ok rifles at a nice price. Weatherby vangaurd is another one.

The stevens 200 has a lot of aftermarket stuff for it.. so in time you can transform it into a pretty hot rifle with add on parts.

Where are you.. Message me and we'll play guns.
