So I know you can't hunt with Restricted firearms, but I have a question. I have about 130 acres of land and a s**t ton of coyotes and stuff on that property. Since I am not leaving my own property am I allowed to hunt those coyotes with an AR? Just a question.

Short answer: no.

Long answer? NOOOOOOOOOOO

lol... Simply put, if you ever have to ask these types of question, the answer will most likely be no...

At the end of the day, is your land a certified RCMP gun range?

If the answer is no, then you can't, if the answer is yes... then blast away....

It's silly I know. Even if you did somehow get your property authorized as a range the CFO likely would not allow you to shoot coyotes because restricted firearms prevent their souls from being reincarnated. Every time a restricted firearm is discharged an amount of love equal to the bullet weight is lost from the universe.

I speed all the time... as im sure most people do...

Right, but speeding or running an amber light won't have a bunch of anti's chanting to ban the automo-car....

Unfortunately we have chosen a sport that seems to be taboo, even firearms have shaped the world, not just in a combat sense either. Before the Loblaws, Sobeys, and Safeways were aren't we used to have to hunt for our food... no one seemed to complained back then that people had and shot firearms without some plastic card...

Everyone knows a bullet from an AR is more deadly than one from a your conventional hunting rifle!

Not to mention, if you kill something with an AR, you #### will fall off. lol

These laws are so retarded, that AR legally resides at his address, he is not transporting it anywhere. It should not matter wether he does rifle drill with it, sits on the couch watching Platoon with it, or fires it. It is not leaving his home. If he can fire guns on his land then what the hell.

Bah, just trade it for a non-res semi then and blast those coyotes.

What ever you decide to use .. make sure you are not using FMJ ammo, even though they are pests, they get a proper expanding hunting bullet.

If you are anywhere near Edmonton get your property certified as a restricted gun range and I will come help you with those coyotes.

Nothing is illegal if you don't get caught, but if you do get caught you will probably spend some time getting to know the local RCMP and spending a pile of cash on Lawyers just trying to stay out of jail, keep your PAL and firearms.

Let us know how it goes getting your property certified. Might be tough to get the yotes to stand in front of your regulation backstop though.
