I'm shopping around for a nice sling for my new hunting rifle, I was just wondering what everybody uses and looking for suggestions. I really like the simplicity of a 1.25" nylon webbing sling like the blackhawk mountain. and is so far what i think i would go for. Its going to go on a stainless syntetic rifle so brown leather must not apply... I know this will end up as a everybody has its opinion thread and its what i'm looking for!! :nest:

I like the Butler Creek Alaskan Guide slings.

The stretchy neoprene stuff stays on your shoulder better than anything else I've ever used and makes a standard weight rifle feel like a kimber on your shoulder.

X2. It's all I use.

X3. Great for riding on the ATV...not always slipping off.

I thought my brown leather Galco Safari Ching Sling looked good on my black McMillan stocked Brno 602,!!?? But in any case, Galco makes a similar product in synthetic for those who shun leather called the Orion Sling and goes for about $35 USD. The advantage of these slings are that they can be used like a simple carry strap or they can be used as a shooting sling and are very fast to sling up. Google Galco.

x6 ... however, I have a few leather slings from Springfield on my M1A and M1 Garand which are real nice ... going to get me a LES TAM one made up ... :D

I have Browning X-Cellerators on most of my hunting rifles. I have to admit that I have never once used the backpack sling mode but they are still good quality slings that comfortable carry the rifle.

I like the neoprene ones for carrying, but they don't work as well as a non-stretchy sling for a shooting aid.
