This thread is about Serious Shooters; what about the slightly crazed guys like me that shoot 338LM for fun and hunt with a semi-precision rig?
MY point is, if you are shooting and enjoying yourself, ya gots ta be on the right track!
There no intention to dis anybody with hunting rigs... if that's your game great have at it and I'm serious about this. Accurizing them don't hurt either... you can win sometimes depends a good deal on ability... just that if your seriously thinking of getting into what some of us are doing it's much wiser to hang with a bunch doing it, see the stuff being used, possibly try some and then go looking for hardware... reversing it by grabbing something off the shelf that does those 1/2 minute bug holes all day long at the short yardages and expecting it to do the same against purpose built stuff... we'll I see it as a potential turn off or a way that a new shooter can loose interest very fast...
I'm adding I'm not talking about the short range BR type rifles... it's the guns I hear talked about at local ranges that never seem to be there when they're talking about them... and the next minute they're telling a newbie what they need for a long range rig...
listening to what is said by some and then butchering it down on the wrong platform or setup doesn't work either... I've seen disappointment on the faces of guys coming off the line... dabbling is just that
