Hunting Sports Near Calgary

I'm fairly new to hunting and I'm having a real hard time finding places around Calgary to hunt and understanding all the regulations. I downloaded the Alberta Hunters App and that really helped make me understand the zones and such.

I have a general(non-draw) whitetail and Muledeer tag. Can anyone tell me some good spots within an hour or two drive from Calgary that I can use these tags? I was going near Waiprous village but had very little success finding any deer.

Any advice here would be very much appreciated!
