This year I carried a red "Turtle" light in my day pack. I got my deer at dusk, and attached the light to a tree in the flashing mode. Drove back after dark and found the spot without any trouble. I also have a white light but it was on my mountain bike. I got mine at Mountain Equipment.

There are lights which come with a remote dongle. It is supposed to be used to locate your tree stand in the dark. I'mm sure it can be used in the same application. But you won't attract any other people till your in the area and push the button on the key fob
