Hunting White Tail?

Hey Nutz,

I'm going to Highland Valley Copper for a few days for work, and I will have some down time in the evening. Does any one hunt White Tail in that area (mu 3-18)? I didnt think they were in that area.

There are some white tails there, in fact there are white tails in almost every region around Kamloops and Merritt (more around Merritt) but bucks are really few and far between at this point around there...it is after all, prime muley country. If you're looking for whitetails in that general area you may want to try your luck on the east side of the Coq south of Merritt, much better population there. The seasons that are in effect in the 3-18, 3-28/29 are more about limiting their growth as they are an invasive species. But good luck, they are there, just wouldn't be making them my primary hunting choice.

I would agree that they shouldn't be your primary hunting choice. Lots of Mulies in that area.

Stick low in the valleys, I used to live in Logan Lake (10 Minutes from Highland Copper) and mostly saw them low.
