I've heard rumour, for a long time now, that there have been increasing numbers of wild boar running around eastern and central Alberta.
Never thought much of it until I heard on the radio that they were actually in abundance and even becoming quite a problem in some parts.

...and i says to myself "self" (and i knew it was me coz i recognized the voice) "i GOTTA get in on some of that!"

So, does anybody have any info on how and where a person can get themselves a pig hunting trip put together? know any farmers that have some pigs they need gone? etc...

The county of Lac St Anne actually had a bounty on them. You might try contacting the county. Many people have hunted them but few have killed a pig.Land owner permission can be difficult to obtain in some areas.I personally have killed wild boar in the Nojack area that escaped from a hunt preserve, but that was many years ago,and I haven't seen one in the area since.

Boars

Rosebud and Bearberry by Sundre are two places I heard had feral boars.

A guy at work, says his Dad shot one by Rosebud along the river while deer hunting. Said it tasted great.

Read an article in the local paper about boars in Bearberry causing trouble.

Both stories related back to escaped animals from game farming attempts.
