Hunting with 7.62X39

A number of years ago that would have been true.
One of the big game hunting prohibitions in Alberta was that you could not use ammunition less than .23 calibre and a specific case length. I can’t remember what the case length dimension was, something like 2”, but it was longer than the 39mm case from the 7.62x39 cartridge and as such we could not hunt big game with that cartridge.
This case length prohibition was dropped in Alberta when short mag cartridges started showing up.
Now its just less than .23 calibre cannot be used for hunting big game.
