My present 18.5" barreled shotgun shoots slugs in about a 6" group at 100 yards (resting on table). about 3" 50 yards unsupported. This allows me to feel good hunting deer with slugs up to about75 yards (personal limit) -using challenger reloads (seem most accurate)

Would a 14" lose too much in accuracy, anyone have experience? As I would like to get a norinco hp9 14", put some wood on it and call it my new hunter.

I have found that the short barrel will lose some velocity but accuracy change will depend on a lot of factors, the type of sights and the shooter are factors more than the barrel itself.

Theoretically the accuracy potential of the shorter barrel is the same as the longer, but in rality the shorter sight radius makes the shorter barrel a little harder to shoot well, the shooter must take a little more care in aiming....that is if the sight system is the same.
Cheers
