Hunting with a Benelli M4

Might be a dumb question but i am interested in buying a Benelli M4 and was wondering if there are any laws agains hunting deer with it. The only think i can think of is that the gun would have to be plugged for holding 5 rounds? Any information would be helpful.

as its a semi auto centre fire, it has to be plugged(somewhat permanently) to five regardless of what you doing. Other than that check you hunting regs. Hunting migratory birds usually has a mag limit ,but not for deer if I am not mistaken.
 
So hunting with this rifle is a non issue? I know its 3 rounds for Waterfoul, but my BAR has a 4 round mag. So i was guessing it would be the same for this firearm.

Mag restrictions for hunting vary from province to province. Here in Ontario, all shotguns need to be plugged for 3 rounds regardless of what you're hunting. For migratory game birds across Canada you are limited to three rounds, but for other game in other jurisdictions there are different limits. The firearm itself is not blacklisted for hunting anywhere in Canada that I am aware of, so long as it meets the calibre/guage requirements and is non-restricted you're good to go.
 
When I got mine I told my wife it was for deer hunting. ;)

Seriously, I have taken grouse with it too, the M4 is great, it is truly a do-anything shotgun. Get one and enjoy it and use it for anything and everything you want to, from bear to deer to grouse and rabbit. My only problem with it is I have no further use for a couple of other shotguns . . . :(
 
And, it is already plugged. It will only hold five rounds. If you need to plug it to lower, just insert a smooth dowel or rod with about 2 to 2 1/2" length for every shell you have to go down. (Yes, 12 gauge shells are longer than that but it is long enough to block further loading.)
 
Unfortunately, It has to be plugged at 2+1........Crazy huh?

What if you dont hunt? What if Im just plinking in the woods with a semi-auto shotgun do I need to plug it to 3rds? or is 5 rounds fine?
 
I have mine plugged and when I got checked the CO he was facinated. He liked it and suggested that the MNR (being law a enforcement agency) should buy some.

I have. Never shot trap before, just fooling around with a launcher and some clays so I don't know if it would work in a "legal" trap shoot, whatever that is, but I hit 17 out of 20 clay pigeons thrown. Probably just lucky but I give credit to the Benelli M4 Super 90.:rockOn::rockOn::rockOn::rockOn:
