I have a friend that doesn't have a PAL. If he has his hunter safety course, can he legally hunt with me while I have my gun out, and I lend him a firearm (I'll be right beside him the whole time).

you can have 10 firearms in the range with you and ur friend without pal or core.
however, on the Mountain you can only carry a firearm for your self.
Even if your Friend has C.O.R.E and no PAL, best bet is for him to get a bow and go bow hunting. you will be rammed by CO's if you get caught having 2 firearms on the mountain with someone that does not have PAL. If you go up with someone does have PAL or by your self, then you can carry as many as you want.
throw him a long bow and a big knife and leave him on the bush while you hunt! maybe you can use him as a water boy!! haha

They let kids hunt without a PAL, another thing I do is call my local CO office and check the regs..sounds crazy I know, but it works.

If he has a hunters number and hunting license, he can hunt with your firearm but you have be in direct supervision of him. You can also have a firearm... providing you have a valid hunting license.

Where did you dream this little diddy up?

My son does not have a pal. he is two years too young . but he has a hunting license. he can hunt anytime in the season with me. As long as I have a pal it is all ok.

thats the way i know it. i have been stoped while hunting with my cousin. hes not old enough to had his PAL. so i take him. he drives the truck and gets to shoot grouse. i get the take the big game.

i think he likes driveing more then shooting.

From the CFC frequently asked questions.....

"If you do not have a valid firearms licence, or if your licence is not valid for the class of firearm you wish to borrow, you may borrow the firearm only if you are under the direct and immediate supervision of an appropriately licensed adult (aged 18 or older) and there are no court orders prohibiting you from possessing firearms or other weapons."

I live in kootenays and have talked to CO here about same situation and thats what he said few months ago. maybe he was a #### and didnt like the idea of havinf no PAL.

What's this CORE stuff you talk of? The OP is in NF... duh.

For firearms related regulations, within arms reach. For hunting regs, BC regs do not apply in NF... but thanks for coming out.

To the OP, talk to your CO's.
