I have a Winchester 94 Trapper with a 16" bbl. I heard recently that this rifle is illegal for hunting in Ontario because of the bbl length. It's not restricted, but I can't hunt with it. Is this true? Please confirm..... Thanks nuts.
I use the exact same gun for deer and once got stopped by two Co's in the field. One of them said" hey that doesn't look legal" but the older of the two said "yes it is, it came from the factory like that". Great gun for shorter distance shots, light and doesn't get caught on everything while dogging.
Oh by the way, I had it dipped in camo in Quebec and it looks great. If I knew how to post pics I'd post the pics.
Some of the blueing got pitted, I had it redone but it just didn't look good so I thought I'd try the dip.
I think I see how to post, I'll give it a try.
HEY COLTFAN THANKS A LOT
How'd you do that?
Your right about the camo in the bush. I tape a real small strip of orange trail tape one of the clips
It was done by Buck Experts last year, has been through one year of deer hunting and held up real well.
Wile Im not sure about the 16" 30-30 for magazine capacity. But would other lever guns that hold more than 5 rds in the tube have to be modified for hunting?
