Brother in law and I went on a little hunt this morning. Didn't expect to see a thing. We were walking and talking after we parked the ATV. He says I'm going to try my bleat call, I tell him I have an app for that. :p It's simply called hunting calls. I tried the bleat call four or five times. And then we split up, he was going to watch the power line we drove in on and I was going to walk the trail beside it. I walked for five minutes and found this guy. He didn't believe me when I called out and told him that I had a deer down. He hadn't even sat down yet! Weighed in at 170lbs field dressed.

As long as electronic calls are legal for deer, you're golden. If not, we never heard or saw anything. Enjoy your Winter's steak supply (yum!)
 
I don't think the calls had as much to do with it as luck did. LOL Just the right place at the right time. 25-06 obliterated his vitals.
 
Got the same app and used it a little bit while hunting (mostly estrus bleat and grunts) but IMHO (wich does not worth much) some calls don't sound very realistic...
 
Yep. It's a T/C Encore. 25-06 bbl on it in the picture. My brother in law said I'll have to put the gun away now that I have my deer. I told him I don't think so I'm going to put the .223 bbl on it now. LOL
