I just picked up at a gunshow Husky 4100 rebarreled to 6.5-06.Just what I was going to get built. This HVA action comes with a single stage trigger. The safety is trigger block. My RCBS trigger guage goes to 72oz,and this trigger is well past that. Is there a replacement available or do I have to send it out to gunsmith with much more skill than I have

That trigger is excessively heavy and I think sending the rifle to a gunsmith for inspection and adjustment is a good idea. I've had a few Husky 1600 rifles, and none had triggers that heavy. There are after market triggers available for Mauser actions, but I don't know if these can be fitted to your rifle.

Huber Concepts makes a nice adjustable Husqvarna trigger:

I installed one on my Mannlicher stocked rifle and it now has a nice 2.5 lb trigger.

4.5-5 lbs is not unreasonable for a hunting rifle in many people's opinion. Obviously not yours, but my dad for instance, prefers that weight. Especially with cold hands or gloves. I like 2.5-3 myself.

I agree with Curt, especially the cold hands part. 4 to 5 lbs. doesn't seem too heavy when there is a bull moose standing in front of you. Will you use the gun to hunt with? Have you shot it the way it is to see if you like it, or are you just trusting the pull gauge?

Trigger pull

A number of years ago ,I bought a '64 M-70 30-06.I got suckered on price, amazing what Oxpho-blue can do.:D But somewhere in it's life it had been loved and gunsmithed to a glassbedded XRT stock with a worked trigger at 42oz.That pull weight and quality of trigger is what I aim for now. I had that rifle polished and reblued. And won the regional sporting rifle class with it. I love telling the guy who sold it, how accurate it is.

I ordered a trigger form Huber. This 6.5-06 is a sweet rifle. The orginal stock is in good shape and made with a fiquired piece of walnut. The bluing is very deep.

Thanks for your help guys
